rust on subframe

I have noticed rust on the weld joints of the engine compartment subframe(2001-E220cdi)The frame (transverse) just behind and below the radiator.
Mercedes say this does not come under the rust warranty as the subframe is not part of the bodywork(for gods sake)
Has anybody experienced this and gone to battle with MBZ over this issue.

Ask them what's use of having nice clothes if the frame collapses ...

Good grief.........thats horrendous

In terms of MB saying they will not replace.....I would go back in and give them grief and ask why other owners have had the subframe replaced under the corrosion warranty.

If this gets no further, ask them to explain why so many owners of 210's on internet forums/owners clubs are all complaining about rust problems which in turn has prompted MB in Milton Keynes to set up a special team to address the rust claims that are inundating MB UK at the moment.

Just keep pushing, you should get this resolved.
