Last week my drivers side front spring top support parted company from the bodywork in the approved manner by rusting through.

This forum provided much information about the common nature of this and made the solution reasonably painless.

Mercedes were very helpful in sourcing the part (None at Southampton but told me there was one in Portsmouth. Portsmouth agreed and put it to one side)

PCS at Horndean were helpful in recommending a bodywork shop that might be able to do the job (ERB Motors in Portsmouth) and although they hadn't done one of these before, had downloaded the information about the job from this site by the time I'd got there and had already prepared an estimate.

They provided me with a courtesy car and 2 days later mine is fixed.

Well recommended!

Car was an E class E280 W210 from 2000 (facelift)
Drivers side front top spring support ("Bracing") P/N 2106260119 cost about £20 from MB
Cost to fit £140+VAT

Assuming it all hangs together, a fair price with good service
