Strange thing happened tonight, just coming out of a bend and floored the pedal, then EPC flashed up on display for a brief moment then cut power, power restored after this immmediatly, tried again and everything ok, would this be detecting wheel spin ? or is it some other thing, i thought traction would come on in this instance or not? anyone know if EPC is to stop wheel spin as well as traction..

Nothing to do with wheel spin at all.
It will be an engine issue caused (normally) by a lack of boost pressure or a fuelling problem.
It needs to be plugged in to see what caused it.

A snap on reader is not the best for this fault. You need to plug it into a Star. Some code readers won't retrieve all the codes. You may need some live data info too.
That code could mean that the engine control unit is faulty but I doubt that as the car runs.
