Have you lot heard about this?

Auto Motor und Sport is reporting that Mercedes-Benz may be developing a four-door convertible version of its flagship luxury sedan, the S-Class. It will reportedly sport the longest soft top every produced and be powered by an equally large 6.0L V12 engine. We can expect the interior to be trimmed out in even more opulent luxury than a standard S-Class, as well. The S-Class convertible will surface in early 2007 as a concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

a 4 door cabriertable will be interesting to say the least!

April 1st seems to come around quicker every year doesn't it? :)

I find it hard to believe that they'd attempt something like that.

There was talk/rumours that they were planning on doing a soft top on the current CL 215 but it never happened. I will believe it when I see it on the new S Class W221...

Very Interesting

As previously said the CL is better styled for a drop top, the problems with the 4 doors seals etc will be nightmare on the S.

gary

A convertible CLS would be cool, the design looks like it would suit a 4-door conv better than the S.

Still though, even if they did make a four door convertible, who gets to ride around in it waving at the back? Kennedy? Hitler?

Michael Jackson?
