Mercedes S202 C250TD Estate
I just bought the 1999 Mercedes-Benz C-Class S202.II C250 Turbo Diesel Estate Auto with no gearbox. I would like to buy a replacement gearbox(automatic gearbox) and the dealers are all asking me about the part number(supposedly to be on the side of the gearbox). Can some please advise on the part number as I am unable to obtain the part number from teh previous owner. The engine's VIN is WDB2021882f882076 if that will assist in any way

The various Merc breakers would all know exactly what you need, I think.
i.e. a 722.6 (pre-tiptronic) 5 speed which the C250 had from 96 to 99/00. I don't think there was any variation across the models, just the one auto box.

Sounds an expensive and fraught way to get a S202 C250, btw...

annoyingly i have recently thrown one away you could have had for scrap value.

buy a scrap car for bits if i were you. any 250td w202 will be good enough

Would a 210 OM606 E300D's box also fit, probably some difference somewhere and I'm sure you'd know?;)

It will fit and work fine, the electrical plug may be different but the wire colors are the same.
