S203 Boot Leak

Morning gents! As some know I have a 2003 S203 C32! I have found, whilst clearing crap from the boot that the spare wheel well is saturated. I've checked the boot seals, and tailgate drain holes and all appear clear. I looked under the car to see what looks like the wheel well drain which is simply a hole and is clear!

Two questions.

1) Should the drain from the wheel well have some sort of non return valve in it rather than just a hole...?
2) Are there any usual suspects to look for with regards leaks....? The rear wash wipe works and is connected....!

Thanks
Neil

The drain hole should have a solid bung fitted. Common fault on the S203 is a separated washer pipe for the rear wash/wipe leaking fluid each operation. Also check rear light seals

Bingo I think the bung has come out as I can push my finger in the hole lol. The rear wash wipe was the first thing I checked

Thanks

I had a similar issue with my S203.
Try pulling the boot lid seal off and clearing out the build up of detritus from the metal lip and the groove in the seal that sits over it.
The water is drawn up and over the metal lip by capillary action through the build up of muck.
Since doing this I have had no further ingress into my boot.

Thanks I'll do this too

Has the car had a towbar? If so they normally leak from wherever they have brought the wiring through.

Not that I know of! Certainly doesn't have any evidence of one being fitted! May have a scout about. I assume there would be an obvious sign of a tow bar in the past?
