My recently purchased 2008 C320 Cdi had a very harsh jerkiness under full throttle. I have a few older Mercs around me most of the time. So I bought an icarsoft scanner. This car came up with 77/1 boost actuator faulty. OK I thought not the end of the world. I'll source on off eBay. 70 quid later a Chinese Chippy copy is on order. Part arrived so I cracked on and fitted it...two minute job. Cleared fault memory and off for a test drive...... The car was worse than before....no power at all virtually undriveable! Scanned the car and it had about 4 DTCs I'd not had previously? So I double checked the work I'd done....all seemed well. In the end I swapped the same part off a friends CLK320 CDi and it ran perfectly. Put the shite Chinese copy part and my friends CLK and his car now was running terribly. So the cheap copy part was the culprit.... lesson learned there...the hard way.
Did some research on turbo actuators and found Essex Recons on web. Sent my old unit to them and they refurbd it and sent it back within 4 days. (98 quid) Fitted it and the car is now spot on. Not the first time I've had trouble with cheap eBay parts...but the LAST.
Well done to Essex Recons definitely recommend them.
