Last week I sat waiting for my wife and with nothing better to do started playing with car settings. I have found both the paper instruction book and the inbuilt system in the command system none too helpful. So slowly I keep playing to try out settings.
In the Comand system Favourites Menu there is an icon for vehicle settings, selected it then Dynamic Select then individual configuration then Vehicle data. A screen appeared that I has not seen in my 7 weeks of ownership. The screen shows settings for the drive mode that you are in. If you toggle the Dynamic select control the screen changes to the mode you are in.
I have attached the Sports+ screen image it is real fun when on the move. At the left of the screen the position of the brake or accelerator shows as a percentage of its travel. At the right the 1,0, -1 shows the position of the airmatic system, -1 is the Sports+ mode as the car is lowered by 15mm. In E or C mode the default is 0 but the cars party trick comes in at around 60mph when the car lowers by 15mm to deduce drag. As you slow down the car rises up again. The yellow shading for the dampers increases with load and with high lateral forces. The red/orange dot moves back and forwards and side to side dependant on acceleration, breaking or cornering. At slow speed the 0 degree symbol by the right front wheel changes to show steering lock, a tight roundabout is about - 10 degrees. On the move the small movements required seem to be less than 1 degree.
A fun toy and interesting for a short while. As with a number of screens you must not get carried away looking at them and not the road.
