S205 C Class Text Messages

Hi All,

Have been playing with the COMMAND system in my car, and it seems that it doesn't notify me of text messages, just comes up saying error unable to download messages.

Is there something specific I need to do to get this working with an iPhone 6S?

I believe there's a setting on the iPhone to switch this on on the phones part

Credit to Richard on here as I've seen him mention this solution on here before, but can't remember where in the settings! I think it's a push notification or something

I've got the 'Show Notifications' switched on as my BMW needed this, so I assumed it was the same on a Merc. Apart from that I can't see/don't know of any other settings?!

All I did with mine was turn on the show notifications as you have said. It would be worth deleting the phone from the car and the Bluetooth connection driver on your phone then reconnecting both as you can get errors when they pair.

Deleted and re-paired, and now I don't get the error message
But didn't receive a text when I tested it, so hopefully it works.

I thought you could reply to text messages when on the move via the voice commands, but seems your limited to use when the car is not in motion.
Guess that's an Apple Carplay function but lets not talk about why Mercedes haven't gotten round to putting that in the C class
