Hi all, new member here. I'm in the market for a S205 C63 or C63s, preferably registered before April 17 😉

There doesn't seem to be many out there but there is a 2016 c63s (without PP) for £34.5k being sold by MotorDepot.

Just wondered what peoples thoughts were on this?

Firstly, you can get a non S with PP for a similar price, would people prefer to have burmester and pan roof etc?

Secondly, is it advisable to be buying a car like this from a place like MotorDepot?

Any thoughts and opinions would be very gratefully received.

Looks nice but a little low on options for that price. Burmeister and pan roof (for me) were must-haves.
Otherwise it looks good to me. Never heard of that dealer so can't comment on them. Good luck.

I personally wouldn't want to buy from a supermarket. Just my personal preference but i'd always prefer to buy from a specialist indy who knows the car, rather than some overly eager tennager on a commission (plenty of them at franchised dealers too unfortunately).

I personally went with a PP car, but non-S. In my opinion, it had loads of power anyway and didn't miss the extra HP from the S - it still makes the same noise (I know there are other differences too, mind!). I loved the pano roof in particular, the Burmester I always thought was only okay. What the Premium package also has is the LED intelligent light system, which is just magic, and keyless go.

Check you can live with the performance seats too. I sought out a car with the standard seats as I found the performance ones quite hard. But this is all personal preference.

I'd also recommend the switchable performance exhaust too - which the car you've linked seems to have.

Thank you for your feedback, it's exactly what I'm after.

It is low on options as you said Iggu, this is my issue with it, the night pack looks good and the dark wood trim is very nice too. I just wish it had PP 🙄

I'm also put off a bit with it being at a supermarket sgregory124, but it is the cheapest 63S I've seen by some margin. I've asked them for it's service history, said they'd get back to me.

I hear you cduk, PP gives you a lot of good extras. I think I'm obsessing over having 'the top model'. The switchable exhaust is one of my must haves too.

As for the de badge Petrol Pete...?! Your guess is as good as mine lol of all the cars to de badge 🤷‍♂️ I'd have to get them put back on again 🤣

The S gets bigger brakes, active engine mounts and an electronic limited slip differential rather than a mechanical one. The extra power is nice but not the main reason to choose S or non-S. As mentioned, the seats could be a deciding factor.

Personally I'd have to have the S as I like all the extra things it has and it's not just a styling exercise as is sometimes the case.

Hi Steve, ye this is what I'm wrestling with, the lack of a PP against the extras you get with it being the S model. It's dilemma, a nice one to have mind.

I’d happily go without the PP for the offerings of the ‘S’. Those seats alone would do it for me. Nice dilemma to have. Good luck.

That particular car is a stunning combo. The night pack looks awesome with the white paint and the red callipers really suit those (Night pack) alloys.

Thanks for the feedback Happytalk, I do think it looks well. I wasn't really after a white car but like you say the Night Pack does go well. I just need them to come back to me with good service history and hopefully evidence the 5 year (ATF etc) service has been done 🤞

It doesn't look a bad car, i would say a little over priced with 32k on the clock, not being a PP car and especially as you wont get the AMG 2 year warranty. If the car was at a Merc dealership i would say its about right. How many owners? Although saying al this i don't know the mark up between 63 and 63S

The good news is that Merc had its last mileage recorded as 32,488 which means it just could of had a service by a main dealer. Good luck with all your checks

Hi dano, thank you for looking into the car. Going off just Autotrader there's only 2 other C63S on there (I only search upto 2017) and they're £39,990 & £43,994 (with PP, not a MB dealer).

One of the biggest problems I'm having is that there's so few estates for sale, I'm only getting 10 on a national search!

I've been in touch with MotorDepot again and I'm pleased to report the car has FMBSH 👍 it's had 4 services, done every Feb. Which means it's due it's 5year/31k service!! (ATF etc)

I'm thinking somewhere north of £1K for this service, has anyone had this done? does that sound about right?

Go for it Ant. It’ll be awesome. 🥳

I don't know if this is a fair comparison to make or if wagon's attract a higher price, but when I bought my 63S (2017 car) saloon in July last year, I paid £38,995. That was for a car with 18k up, PP with pano roof/Burmeister (not what its cracked up to be by the way!).

That was from an independent garage (tried the dealers and couldn't find what I wanted, also they know seemed to know nothing about the cars themselves which put me off).

If you do decide on the MotorDepot car, i'd try and beat them down on price for sure!

Hi sgregory124, I think there might be a bit of a mark up on wagons, it's probably because there's just so few of em! There's a 2016 c63s with PP and 31K miles up for £39,995! This car has been on Autotrader for a good 3 or 4 months now though.

Unfortunately I think I've just missed the boat on the MotorDepot car, its just gone up as reserved on their website. Feeling sad now.

Feeling sad now.
Dinny be sad Ant. I’m a great believer in ‘things happen for a reason’. Keep searching. Be patient and you’ll get a great one eventually, and more than likely a better car/deal than that one and you’ll be glad you ‘missed the boat’. 👍

Another will come, Don’t worry! I sold my first s205 c63 to a pal who’d nagged me for it from the day it arrived. I regretted it immediately, but it took me almost a year to find another. Find one I did though, and I like it more than my first!

Thank you Happytalk & Jobsworth, I think I needed to hear that. You're both right, I just get impatient once I know what I want lol
