Morning,
Been looking around tinternet to try and establish the maximum depth of speakers that can be fitted in the Front and Rear doors on a s205/w205 2015 car.
I know they are 4" / 10CM speakers
I know they have a 3 prong mounting on the door card
But all the "Kits" you can buy are all stupidly expensive and to get the total speakers I need to upgrade (2 x Front door. 2 x Rear door, 2 x Rear surrounds + 1 x Centre speaker) I would need to sell a kidney. So I was looking at using the speaker ring adaptors and some standard mount speakers as this opens up a lot more choice in price and performance.
But the issues is the depth of the speakers. I found a lovely set but they were nearly 6cm/60mm deep in mounting and I have seen that the doors with out modification will not take these. So question is... what size will they take OR what have people installed?
