Hi, just new to this site and this is my first post, I have a S210 320cdi and the rear passenger wheel is toed out and the camber looks very straight compared to the other side which has negative camber as it should. I have had the car to the mechanics 3 times and they have replaced the hub, the alignment control arm which is toe I think and another arm not sure what is is called but it is beside the control arm and has made no difference. They have checked everything and nothing looks bent and no other bushes appear worn just don't want to keep replacing things and getting nowhere. The car feels very light at the rear so sharp turning is best avoided. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Is the mechanic an MB specialist? And where in NI are you?

In a town called Moy just outside Dungannon, Had the alignment done but they have it adjusted to max and it still is toed out. Have been looking on other threads and have noticed that the camber could be due to the SLS not working on that side as I have noticed that that side rides higher than the other side and no the mechanics not a MB specialist

I always thought you guys called it "the Moy".

I don't know any MB guys up that far. Plenty in Belfast though. If one side of the SLS is down, then the suspension will be out. What is the level of the fluid like (next to the washer bottle)?

I'm a blow in so pronounce it properly, the side that is at faulty is higher up than the other side that appears normal, I've only had the car a month and trying to get all the problems sorted, the level was about an inch below the min when I got it and the filter was gunged up so I replaced the filter and topped up the level, just the wheel sits very straight up and down with the toe out so keeps pulling the car to the left. Do I need to bleed the system

If it is too high, then yes it will be straight. It does sound like it needs bled...but usually they are self bleeding. Someone with greater knowledge will be along in due course.

Might need a new sphere but new to merc so I'll take my time, thanks:thumb:

My rear left rode about 2cm higher than right. Have changed springs and spheres. I believe I've replaced decent rear springs and spheres to no avail. (I still have good old sheres by the way) . I then swapped the new springs round. No difference. Some years ago an indie changed rear subframe bushes (there are four of them, he changed the front two). One wasn't seated completely into the subframe. After seating it further the car sat 1cm lower on that side. I don't think it made any positive effect on the ride however or on the camber. Mine looks more vertical on the left too.
Recently I started looking at the front right, and that was about 1cm lower than front left. I thought that both things may be related. I put a larger shim on the front spring to see if it improved matters. To my disappointment it didn't do enough, though it possibly improved rear left by a couple of mm.
My next move will be to disconnect the rear anti-roll bar and check heights.
If you're interested in spheres you might be able to swap yours around to see if itakes any difference though I doubt it will.
I don't think I have your toe out problem and I have no ideas relating to it. I plan to see an alignment specialist later this week so might be able to pass on more info.
When I bounce test rear left it rebounds more than right. Does yours have any similarity and what is the distance between your wheel arch and the ground?
I'm sorry this post provides at best discussion and at worst red herrings!
