Well my rear subframe bushes are goosed! Noticed them while having tyres changed.

It's also recently developed a concerning creak from the N/S/R when stopping or pulling off and over large bumps that cause the car to go over at an angle! I'm hoping this is down to the bushes also? As whilst replacing my alternator recently I couldn't see anything else wrong!

How much is generally charged to replace these? Obviously I'm not going to be visiting a main dealer! But would like to know a ball park figure so I don't have to sit down when they tell me the price!

Also just realised I've put this post in the wrong section! If an admin would kindly delete and I'll repost it in the correct section!

From memory, I paid an MB Indy in Glasgow just under £200 for the 204 a few years ago. It will be more than that in your area; I would have thought nearer £300 now.

Others might have it more accurately, though.

£300 not too bad! Cheaper than the alternator I've just had fitted.... needs must! MoT in April! May get them to look into my rear brake pipes at the same time as think they may be a bit rusty too!

At exactly my first year anniversary of running one and the same, I have concluded that they're too old and not financially viable as a daily, unless:

You do all the work yourself, have a parts car to hand, and get 'something' out of it.
As when they're good, they're good!

Yea, I wish I had known this before parting with my money in the first place. I've spent a lot of money so far. More than the cars worth, so I'm just going to keep plodding on with the money pit. Cant be all that much more to replace now. Its going to be almost brand new underneath by the time I've finished. I wasn't intending on a full restoration of the mechanical workings.... But its not panning out that way

30k miles in 10 months and so far and I've replaced:

Water pump
Viscous fan
Injector
Steering rack (plus ends)
Lower ball joints
Front pads n discs
Full service (filters etc)
Glow plugs x 6
1 x injector
Plastic Fuel pipes under the bonnet.
Injector Leak off pipe
Alternator
4 x Wheels
6 x Tyres
CD player
Boost hose
Front Wheel bearing/hub x 2
Wiper blades x 3 + rear wiper blade.
Battery
Gearbox oil and filter change.

Things to do:
Bonnet cable
Rear sub-frame bushes

Really cant understand why the Mrs doesn't like it.......
