S210 sls ram query

Right should the rear sls rams on a 210 be able to move at the bottom
? Just git a 2nd hand unit, and on inspection the bottom of the ram, above the mount holes - should this be one ie. Nit be able to turn it. I know it's not under pressure but I'd have thought the bottom of the ram should be solid.

Any info would be great aside either bought a u/s ram or maybe I didn't need to buy one at all!

Old ram was knocking. Seemed that at the bottom it was not secure even tho 2 mounting bolts were secured. Other side had no movement so my thinking was bad ram at the bottom mount. Not leaking but the body Cound be twisted when on the car under load.
