the mrs has trapped a bit of fabric in the boot lock of the 210 estate.

pulling the lock doesnt do anything - im pretty stong. Lots of jiggling up and down still nothing. releasing I can hear the auto lock working.

any ideas?

Hmmmm. If that's anything like the S124's boot lock, a bit of fabric shouldn't stop it... how could it be trapped?
I'm guessing you've already looked to see if the interior panel can be removed with the boot door closed...

Yes from the inside under the lock I think their are two bolts that you can loosen this may help its behind carpet

Have you tried using the key to manually open it?

The part of the handle that presses against the switch may be broken, using the key bypasses this.

Also my 203 has a pull out plastic cover on the tailgate cover remove that and there should be a red trip lever to release the tailgate

Hyperviolance and brute force sorted it.

However, she needs to buy a new boot door card.

Removed inner door handle
remove two luggage tie downs
cut door card in half
push various pins and levers until it opens

Key useless, lock seized solid.
Pics to follow.

It was one of those stick on sun screens you get for kids - the edge is metal, it was squashed into the lock mechanism.

I had this once. I had some cardboard on the boot floor to protect the carpet as I was moving some stuff and when I closed the boot, the cardboard got stuck in the lock and it took some severe kicking from the inside to open it. Bit less than yours however as I did not need a new boot door card.

Lesson learned, keep the lock mechanism clear!

boot card chopped in half....

anyone got one?
