S211 abs/esp fault with limp mode

Hi all

Purchased an e270 cdi estate which is stuck in limp mode, showing abs/esp fault in cluster and will drive but only in 1 gear.

I checked fault codes with my launch x431 diagun and had the following:

C1439 & c1479 : left & right rear speed sensors. Had the same in esp & transmission module.

I changed the rear left sensor and still the same

I've monitored the values of each wheel and no values show for the rear

Reckon it could be the reluctor rings?

Is this located in the boot? What's its purpose?
