S211 boot sill cover loose on outside edge

Hello all,

I have a 2006 facelift S211 and the tailgate sill cover (kickplate?) is loose on the outside edge, as shown in the attachment. It looks like the outside edge should have been tucked under some tabs, but wasn't.

I undid the screws on the inside edge, but it still seemed to be held in place.

Am I right in thinking this is detached? If so, any pointers on how to get it off and attached properly would be appreciated.

For others who may find this post in the future; the sill can be removed. Often during removal the little tabs get bent out of shape.

It is counterintuitive but when replacing the sill, the tabs need to be squashed rather than opened out to make the fit work.
