s211 comand - now unlocked !!

Hi All,

I managed to unlock my comand on the s211 (53-reg). So now I can play multi region DVD's, mp3's and movies on the go.

The problem is that mp3's dont play!!

I have the mp3 files stored in 5 folders with approx 50 tracks per folder.

Should I try something else?

Also, the ipod connector in the glove box, could I plug in a generic mp3 player, like the sony or philips?? Or does it have to to be an Apple ipod??

The glove box connector is a bog standard 3.mm input jack, no less and no more.

You can plug in any generic player that has an aux output including the 4K's worth of kit sat in my living room, although you couldn't drive anywhere!

Get an mCar or Denison, or of course the MB iPod kit

you need a changer from the later 2005 + models, they have mp3 capability on the cd changer

I thought the in-dash DVD unit would play the mp3 cd's?

I have unlocked the mp3 function in the engineering mode and the secret mode within that!

How do I unlock the DVD on my 2010 CLS W219 so it plays on the move, I know it's wrong but the wife wants to watch it

You can no longer do it via the engineering menu. Quick google search will tell you what is needed to do it.
