Good spot. Brings back a few memories - I had the same interior in an E500 saloon but with darker wood. The nappa was beautiful, high quality and I still miss it. This has a much higher spec than mine though - not seen one with leather dash, ventilated seats, rear heated seats etc before. At 145k that engine is probably just about run in now too…
Go on.Well, I bought the ML partially because I'd never had a car with the M156; the other MB V8 I've never had, and would like, is the M273, and I really liked the (lots of) S211s I've had. If it was plain black leather, I'd not want it, but with that interior, maybe.... I'll sleep on it.
Surely the leaky tail light cluster means it has to go?Well, I bought the ML partially because I'd never had a car with the M156; the other MB V8 I've never had, and would like, is the M273, and I really liked the (lots of) S211s I've had. Go on.
You know you want to![]()
Both tail light clusters leaky, actually, but I'll sort them eventually. The CLS SB will have to go soon, though I'll probably keep it until Spring rather than sell it earlier. If the seller is an occasional dealer, he doesn't sell much, and they're mostly nice cars - the Alpina, another BMW 5-series, and the E320 a while ago; I doubt I'd need a ten foot pole. I bought my first Mercedes from a similar seller, and the car was fine. I'd be interested to see the service history, too, but there's nothing too alarming in the MoT history.Surely the leaky tail light cluster means it has to go?
Who needs 4WD for the winter, anyway?
Or you could keep both - you can never have too many cars! And the seller looks rights up your street, Dennis? Private seller who puts his number in the advert and sells a few cars from home?
Apart from the mileage, but 211s are generally pretty durable. If this had popped up before the S212 E500 that I bought this summer I think I’d probably have gone for it. That interior lifts it above the normal coal mine black, and it really is loaded with options. I doubt there’s a better one out there.
I quite like those wheels. I wonder how they’d look on an S212.I think I do, though I don't care for the fussy wheels, but I could change those. Hmmmmmmmm.
That B10 is rather delishI think I do, though I don't care for the fussy wheels, but I could change those. Hmmmmmmmm.

I'll sleep on it; I may go over in the ML and test drive it, and see what I think after that.
I was tempted by it but would rather a more interesting exterior colour. Let us know how you get on Dennis, the interior is a huge plus point for that car and I think the 5.5 is an interesting lump for the 211Apart from the mileage, but 211s are generally pretty durable.
I think the V8S has quite a lot of bespoke parts that the stock V8 doesn't. It makes it a lot more expensive to find parts. I was offered a B10 V8 touring before I bought my E55 but it was withdrawn and reoffered too late. I don't regret it at all but the B10 is a far rarer thingThat B10 is rather delish![]()
