I am having a lot of problems removing pad retaining pins from my front calipers had not originally ordered replacement pins so decided to order some before I finish the job

I spent over half an hour and only managed to remove one by hitting with punch on end with large hammer but could not shift the other three. The end of the pins are just getting more and more damaged by repeated hitting (hence now getting replacements) but seemingly not moving

Anyone have some suggestions on the best way to get pins out?

you could try a wd40 like spray for a few days before attempting to get them out , also push the retainer down before tapping the pins ????.

Did try some searching was perhaps being too specific so did not manage to find anything useful

Thanks very much for the link very useful!

I will have another go next weekend once I have new replacements.

Did mine and had pre soaked them for several days (wd40) in a row prior to doing the job (knew the job was gonna be less than easy). They all came out eventually. Not only were the pins a pain but the new pads going in were an incredibly tight, not a job to be undertaken when tight for time!
