S211 LED Brake light tail light malfunction

First noticed malfunction of the right brake light and right tail light, which turned the back up lamps on last night.

Taken the rear right lamp unit apart, no evidence of moisture or corrosion or burning. Got the tail and brake leds to work, tried again and the malfunctions are back. Occasional flash from the unit. Leads me to believe that the leds are working but whatever is controlling them does not.

Indicator works fine.

Scanned faults no faults in rear Sam.

Please help with any ideas, I want to make sure I need to buy A2118200811 before I take the plunge. Thanks

Had similar issue with my led rear light on my C219. Mine was the driver board and is un-repairable because of the surface mount components. Ended up buying new light unit but hunt around for best price. MB wanted arm. leg and children for one but got a Lemforder unit for £150.
