Well, that was an eventful day today...

... my 2013 S212 E220 started making a whining noise whilst accelerating through the gears after 30 odd miles of motorway driving. Called Mercedes roadside assistance once I got to work who sent someone out within the hour. We went for a drive and after checking that it wasn't happening whilst stationary or in neutral, the technician came to the conclusion it was something gearbox / transmission related.

Has anyone else had experience of anything similar before? No faults found on the Xentry quick test he did, and no fluid lost anywhere.

I must say, it was the best service I've received if ever I've had car trouble. The car was collected and taken to the dealership. I had a courtesy car delivered to my work by the end of the day for me to travel home in. Fingers crossed I'll hear from them soon once they've had the chance to look at it.

it might be any bearing in car .

I got the car back today after it was taken to Mercedes Guildford. They diagnosed it as a split air intake hose to the turbo. The service guy I was dealing with was very helpful, even brought the hose out to show me it was split. However, I took the car away and got on the motorway a few minutes down the road and noticed a nice new humm in the background. Now, when the gearbox kicksdown there is a very noticeable jolt - something that definitely wasn't there before and quite startling!

A bit disappointed really, will call my local trusted dealership tomorrow to get it booked in again! Has anyone got any experience with the above or any advice to offer?

Cheers, Matt
