S213 E63s 2017 Vs 2019 Vs Edition 1

I've spoken to the dealer about it, says they can remove it if I want. .....just can't decide if I want to 🤣

I'll get in touch with BFT for some advice thank you 👍
Good call, Personally Id keep them and take the originals, maybe get a retune with BFT either direct or via MSL depending on where you are; to make sure the tune is safe.

That's not a bad plan @Alps, as it stands I've got a free stage 1 remap, just want some reassurance it's good quality/safe.

Update:
After speaking to lots of people, including BFT I decided to ask the dealer to remove the remap, err on the side of caution for now.

Catted downpipes have been refitted, cars got a fresh MOT & service. Only hang up now is the PPF is lifting in a couple places. After initially saying they would 'sort the PPF' they're now saying they can't, it's too expensive (£1500). So need to do some more negotiating, money off the car &/or money off extended warranty.

Going to inspect it Saturday (test drive).
If I'm happy with the car and we come to an agreement with the PPF issue, I'll commit to buy it (give em more money).

Probably won't drive away with it on Saturday, still need to sell my C43.

So it all happened yesterday!

What a thing! Very happy boy.
Big step up for me and still can't really believe I've done it.

Still got the C43 till tomorrow so couldn't resist a side by side 😎

Very nice, that matt paintwork is fantastic ! Great rims too ! Congratulations!

Thank you 😁 bloody luv it

The dealer has offered me 3yrs warranty for £1400 which I still need to make a decision on. It's a big ask to cough up more money right now but feel like I probably should.

It's evolution warranties, ultimate cover they're trying to sell me

Haven't had a chance to look at claim limits. Did you buy the modded one ? If the claim limits and exclusions look reasonable I'd ask them if you can pay monthly over time as an AMG with a decent warranty is far mor palatable than without

Big list of things NOT covered 🤔

It was modded, been removed, OEM downpipes and map removed.

Salesman did say they could do interest free on it.

Very nice looking car… I haven’t read the what is and isn’t covered with that policy, but I would be tempted to take a three year warranty at that price provided that the main items are covered.

Enjoy the E63…

Thank you for your continued support @TrueSpirit it is appreciated 👍
It's a pleasure,

I couldn't find a limit per claim. There's a couple pages of exlusions below - the key is that the dealer will get the modified vehicle exclusion taken out. If they can do interest free and payable over multiple months, it might hurt a bit less for sure Evolution Warranties Limited is rated "Great" with 4 / 5 on Trustpilot some reviews

Very nice - but best of luck with that paintwork!

I passed on a 2019 saloon with the selenite mango finish like that because I just knew I wouldn’t be able to keep it pristine and the fact self repairs aren’t an option

Thank you for your responses, trustpilot was a good shout, I've had a read 👍

I know @sgregory124 that satin paint is a concern, cars got full PPF (almost).

There's an element of throwing caution to the wind buying cars like this anyway, in for a penny un all that 😬
At least you stand a chance with PPF - the other reason I mentioned it is because when my wife saw it at the garage when I went to drive it, without any prompt from me said "That is the divorce paint job" 😂

Got the car booked in at my local MB Indy (York) for a thorough health check. It's gonna cost me £180 but I think it's worth it.

Issues I already know about is stop/start isn't working, (worked on the rest drive but hasn't since). The other is a strong fuel smell in the cabin, think it's coming through the air vents (hard to tell) getting a bit of a headache from it by the time I get to work.

Being sat at traffic lights in middle of York with stop/start refusing to work isn't helping 🤣

Smell of fuel 😬 have you told the dealership you bought it from? I would do that even though they probably won't do anything , at least you have it on record

lovely looking car. defo get it checked esp re fuel smell! stop start could be something as simple as the battery.

Will almost certainly be your battery at fault.

Batteries on the 213 have a maximum lifespan of 5-6 years (in fact. that's true of a lot of high current batteries in my experience), when I bought my 2018 car in December 2023, the battery was only holding a 45% charge - so I had to get it replaced.

Since then, I've found that if it isn't driven more than once a week for maybe 90 minutes a time, it needs topping up - which I think is a known 'issue' in that there are so many consumers of power whilst at rest. If you don't already own a charger, you could do much worse than invest in a CTEK 5.0.

Gonna speak to the dealership tomorrow about it but I want someone independent to check it out before I take it back to them. I'm worried they've made a hash of replacing the downpipes (were catless)
On the m177 it’s necessary to open a fuel high pressure line to be able to replace the spark plugs on the left hand bank. If it’s had recent plug replacement that’s where I’d be looking first
I'll have a look through the paperwork, see when the plugs were last done 👍

I'm thinking it's probably battery for the stop/start, it's already done the thing where the windows misbehave (open themselves half way after closing) they forget they're position, need a reset.
