Hi All,

My S320 being new to me and having had a limp mode due to a faulty DPF sensor I want to start becoming preventative on issues.

There is a lot of talk about the orange seal for the turbo. I had a look at mine and it looks like I have a few drops of oil below it.

It seems a simple enough job to change over. I just want to ask if anyone has done this and if they have any tips on how to do it.

Also is there anything else I can do/clean out while I am replacing the O ring.

I am handy enough with a set of tools but would like clear instructions.

Thanks

Hose clip on both left and right air boxes plus the one around the orange seal ring, undo these and pull the airmass unit toward you and it should come off, also replace the small orange seal ring to the left (with sensor and plug pushed into it.

Thanks for the reply Auto-Mobile.

I thought it would be as simple as that, I have seen a few things mentioned about the inlet port shut off motor - is this more complicated to get to and clean up?

Thanks

Yes

Regarding the turbo low pressure seal (Orange) don't be tempted to use any sealant when reassembling.

There always seems to be some oil leakage around that area even with new turbos and gasket kits, quite common so long as its's not excessive.

thanks for the advise. many seem to say to use some sort of silicon seal.

Can someone advise where to buy these seals from?

Genuine parts

Remember under the orange seal is the swirl flap motor-when oil gets into it boom....limp mode
