OK, I can't recommend this one. The mileage seems a bit toppy.

But I thought it was worth highlighting because of the wear on the central console and a hint of wear on some of the switches.

It's just amazing how Sindelfingen builds these things.

The W221 centre armrest is prone for that, pretty much everyone I’ve seen has different levels of “sagging” of the leather.

When you think about it less than 100 miles per day isn't really that much. We think 257k is a ton of miles but commercial vehicles and taxis must do a fair bit more than this.
Many model vehicles are able to do mega miles now I suspect if regularly and well maintained. An S Class has always been up the the task of course.

Would be interesting to see the cost of servicing, maintenance and repairs since new. I bet that must be some number!

Very true. The thing that got me into the E class in the first place was weekly commuting into Germany which usually involved jumping into cars which rode very well, yet which routinely had 350,000kms on the clock.

I know the centre leather sag is something people worry about, but how much would it cost to get a proper trimming specialist retrim this, or even refit or re-stretch the existing cover over the arm rest?
I was watching a shocking Goblin Works Supra/hash-up yesterday on Quest, and they had the seats custom retrimmed in (what they said was) leather for £1,000. If you can take the arm rest of and provide to the trimmer, what would this be? £100?

MoT tested every 6 months=taxi?

Mine has done 166,000 and no sign of sagging :)

£100? Tops.

It wouldn’t put me off buying one because, like you suggested, I’d have it re-trimmed, just seems a funny one for Mercedes not to pick it up when they face-lifted the W221 in 2009 because both gens are like it.
