Mercedes S63 BiTurbo 2012. LEXUS LS400. JENSEN INTERCEPTOR Mk3 8.2
Bad day to come to london to go car viewing, Chelsea and Spurs at wembley and the sad death on the north circular of a lady driver. yesterday. Saw the Lexus, while the car was good, was a City car used for chauffeuring from A to B occasionally, the reason for the low milage. The wife said not really. Then saw the S600 and she said as soon as she sat in it, her answer was go for it. While looking at it came upon a badge on the center armrest "GRAND EDITION" Is there, if what, the difference between a "Standard" and a "Grand Edition" S600

How did the lady driver die? Can't usually go fast enough on the NC. Not being facetious

Car crashed then she suffered a heart attack.

Sorry to hear of the poor lady's death .

Don't know about the S600 but sure it's a nice car .

S600 Grand edition.

Is there, if what, the difference between a "Standard" and a "Grand Edition" S600

Grand Editions were a 1999 end of run special of maybe 600 W140 cars, like the SL500 Silver Arrows, or the 120 500E W124's. I was working in Frankfurt at the time, where some wags called them "Diana Specials." (German sense of humour can be darker than you'd expect)

Key features were special dark pearl black metallic paint (which may have been Obsidian), black maple trim, sunroofs, premium parchment (?) napa leather everything, black maple wood/leather steering wheels, upgraded music, fancy lighted sills, Grand Edition mats, 18 inch aero monoblocks and generally just "all the toys." They did look really something, even compared to the super slender W220

S600 Grand Edition.

I've just seen your separate post about Warranty on the S600 - specifying your target car as a 2009 S600.

Mercedes resurrected the Grand Edition label for the W221 as a run out strategy (again) in 2011. Could it be a bit of owner badge engineering?

Here's the press release from 2011:

W221 Grand Edition - MBClub UK - Bringing together Mercedes Enthusiasts
