With it being freezing & at a loose end, decided to polish up the aluminium intakes on my S63 (I know, too much time on my hands). I had bought a 2" buffing pad with various grades of wet & dry for around £6 from Ebay. Out with the drill & got stuck in. Came up pretty good but wanted a bit more shine. Found some T-cut (dont know if they still sell it) which must be about 30 years old, put some on a fine pad & away we go. Still a few scratches, which is tomorrows job & second one still to go, but keeps me out of bother

Autosol works a treat for the final polish, looks great.

That's both intakes done. Finished with Autosol then a last touch detail spray

I looked at doing this on mine, thought the drivers side one was too difficult to take off so just had a quick go at the passenger side. Was I mistaken and is the drivers side relatively easy to remove??

I did not remove them, just got my hand down as far as possible with various wet & dry, then used a 2"pad on a small drill then finished with wool pads from ebay. You get far enough down so you cant really see anything when it sweeps in

Ok, thanks for the reply.
