Hi all was wondering whether the s63 either in 6.2 form or 5.5 biturbo comes in swb all the ones I’ve seen are in LWB and look a bit dopy and ship like in my opinion. If it does come in swb then all good, it’ll be next on my list

In theory the S63 was available as SWB, but I can’t imagine they sold many. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was L version only for UK market.

Have never seen one or heard of any, even the non AMG's are extremely rare

The longer wheelbase will make it better at high speed cruising.

My S500LWB was superb on a motorway run

Certainly from the W221 facelift around 2009/2010, nothing but the lowest S350d is available in SWB.

I don't own a w222 but I have the impression the facelifft is smaller than W221?

I should perhaps clarify my post in so far as W221 facelift onwards to include the W222.

I know the W222 is wider and lighter like for like (achieved through lighter panels).

I'm pretty sure the W222 pre and post facelifts are the same body shell and length - unless you meant the W222 is smaller than the W221?

Don't know on the length for sure and you get different values whether SWB, LWB and the Maybach mega long ones.

The w222 is 40mm longer than the W221 in both SWB and LWB form. The W222 is 18mm wider.

For W222 they have SWB, LWB, Maybach and Pullman each with longer wheelbase. My C217 is shorter than all of them.

Yeah had a w222 pull next to my C216, felt smaller. Perhaps a senior moment

I've parked a LWB W222 next to a C216 and it appeared the W222 was around 20cm longer.

But actually, the difference was negligible until you got in line with the rear (assuming the fronts were level) and you had to look at the side profile to see the difference.

In reality - it's bugger all and both cars seem very similar.

So if a SWB pulled next to you, I can see how it might appear shorter. Effectively a SWB W221 and SWB W222 there really...

This is a work colleague's car. W221 S63 and I think it is the SWB model.
