Sad old w124 estate ... local to me ....

Talk about an abused car...

My local tips all charge for commercial vehicles so I have saved a fortune in skips and waste disposal

The mot expired in October

Hands up all those who believe he stopped driving it when the MOT expired .
they are such brilliant cars to have

That must be why he took so good care of it!

Reminds me of my old 124 estate, the perfect workhorse :bannana:

I however was using it a little more legitimately, I had just bought my first house which I was clearing and refurbishing :) Certainly useful for trips to the tip ;)

Gulp.....flamesuit on and secured.
I hate to admit it but I did the exact same thing (house clearance) with my 2003 E500 Avantgarde (with nappa) Estate. They seem to beg to be loaded up :) No pics unfortunately but I did at least line the back with an old bedsheet first.

1 careful enthusiast owner, interior has usual wear and tear for age, nothing that a quick vacuum won't sort etc. etc. ;)

SLS not working Will or did you have about 4,000 lbs of stuff in there?

A bit of both, I think I killed it in the end with 20 or so trips to the tip with rubble, flooring, garden rubbish etc.

It was bought as a shed on wheels from day 1 - Had done 225K miles when I sold it!

Had a few months MOT and tax when purchased, I got my money's worth out of it, then sold it on. Cost £380, sold for £240 (spares/repairs)

So £140, probably saved me £1000 in skips at least

I decided to build myself a patio last year, during which there was the unavoidable fetching of large amounts of stuff.
I got 200 bricks and 8 (25k) bags of sand & cement in the back of mine :)
The guy at the yard looked at me like i was insane ;) , whichever shape they come in: its good to know that a merc will work hard when it has to
