A family member is going to visit me in the US soon and wants to know where he can park his Bentley. He lives in London and will go for a month. Is there a service or a company that can take care of his not-so-cheap car while he's away for that long? The last thing he wants to do is park it on the street. Is airport parking all secure and safe? The car has just had paint correction work done for £800 and owner don't want to see it damaged in any way upon his return.

Regards.

Does he park it on the street normally?

Does he not know anyone who can keep it locked away or underground for that period of time?

Airport parking for that length of time is both costly and has the potential for damage as people may be parking next to the car frequently - you know what its like, nice cars seem to attract people parking next to them.

My advice would be to pay one of the Vehicle storage companies who specialise in storing vehicles for clients to keep it for a month.

These kind of companies are pretty accomodating as they usually have demanding clients who live abroad and spend a couple of days here and there in the UK.

If his car is usually garaged at home - why not get a taxi to the airport?? Put the battery on trickle charge.....

As he lives in the apartment block he normally leaves the car outside overnight. There's no dedicated parking lot and every morning he finds a ticket on his windshield but that's another story. At least he's happy that the car is not abused by neighbors or passer-by's.

Back to the 1 month parking issue. Long term airport parking is not safe I understood, pretty much like in the US.

I like the idea of vehicle storage - any particular company you can recommend?

I know of a particular car park in Battersea where the lower level is littered with exotica that seem to be kept there for long term. There's lots of free spaces left so I'm sure suitable enquirees would lead to a positive result.

For the sake of the owners of these cars, I wont put this information in the public domain but for the petrol heads amongst us, I can highly recommend taking a look in this car park one day if you're in the area as its contents are simply stunning. (PM me for the location).

Why not just put the car into the Bently dealership of his choice for a service/valet/whatever , and tell them he'll pick it up in a month ?

I am not sure I can PM anyone as I am below 30 posts, but can't you provide a post code or keyword to look it up in Google?

That was a plan but his local dealer said they would have to shuffle his car pretty much on daily basis as they don't have large premises to accommodate everyone.

Google up vehicle storage in London, there's several companies that offer such services. Probably be able to arrange transport to/from the airport for him and have the car gleaming with a fully charged battery ready for when he returns :thumb:

dont know about how secure but have used purple parking a few times when i go to SE Asia for 5-6 weeks at a time and usually pay about £50-£60 a time as long as i use a promo code

i have a place he can keep a car for 4 weeks but its underground and in central london.

Probably not much use, plus i don't fancy the liability!
