Just had a scary recall letter from MB regarding my 20 year old C220 Cdi Sports Coupe. Here's the scary bit:

We have established that on some cars the bonding between the panoramic sliding roof panel and the panoramic sliding roof frame may not meet the required specifications. As a result, the adhesion of the bonding material may deteriorate gradually over time. Therefore, the durability requirements of the bonding cannot be ensured and possible separation of the sliding roof panel from the car cannot be excluded.

Please contact your nearest or most convenient Mercedes-Benz Authorised Repairer quoting reference number
SRPC2257.

This work will take approximately 3 hours to complete and will be carried out free of charge. While your car is with us, we will also take the opportunity to complete any additional technical upgrades.

Obviously, the work is vital & particularly so in my case where the car is 20 years old with almost 280,000mls on the clock. And I've already had to use sealant near the front of the pano roof to stop a leak when it rains heavily.

Has anyone had a similar recall as described above and can tell me what I'm in for, particularly with the quote "... we will also take the opportunity to complete any additional technical upgrades."

Tks
