Be prepared that it may well be busy but this will likely be the case now right up until the summer. The Sunday is the Ford RS Owners Club and this year is 20th year celebration of the Escort RS Cosworth and as such they expect the largest ever gathering of them in one place on Saturday which will also be covered by Fast Ford magazine.

Justin1600 bet you wish you could make it now

!!! Holly Molly !!! that means at least 1h of queueing between each run... not cool... especially if it is to get beaten up on the 1/4 mile by some tuned up cosworths ;-) Mind that I used to love these cars when I was a young boy!! I was planning to bring some friends who are celebrating a birthday along. The idea was to get everyone at least a couple runs, not sure if that is realistic now. Are you positive this will be the busiest RWYB of the year...? How about the drifting section at Santa Pod, I have never been although I could hear cars going bonkers on the other side of the hill, is this open to everyone?

I'm tempted for sure, but if it's going to be rammed by the RS owners club I may pass. But, their day is the Sunday, so it might be a bit quieter on the Saturday....

Yeah i know mate, i am supposed to be going there on the Sunday for RS Central Day. I was going to run the C43 up the strip a couple of times in the morning, as me RS is not ready as yet. :D

Sorry just to clarify I don't expect that it will be the worst of the year it will be busy but that will be the case now until the end of the summer, there are shows almost every weekend now at Santa Pod. It's only early season and late season when you are likely to get 12 or 13 runs in an afternoon like CT55 did. Saturday Fast Ford are confirmed as there as they are covering the event on Sunday and the 20th Anniversary of the Escort RS Cosworth is being covered on Saturday for a future mag article. A couple of weeks ago the Fast Show had a big crowd helped by the good weather and yes you were talking 30-60 mins between runs. As for getting spanked by a well sorted Escort Cossie I have no issue with that I would have loved to have owned one when they first came out but could never afford the 13k yes 13k I was quoted in 1994.

There will be at least a dozen Ford's that will beat you up the straight mate, but you will be safe with most of them :thumb:

Not sure what time does Santa Pod opens up.
I may leave London early enough to make it there around 9AM and enjoy a few runs before the queue builds up.

The strip is normally open shortly after 10am dependent on weather, morning mist sometimes struggles to lift so it can be slightly later. I think the gates opens approx 8:30am or so and registration 9:00am.

Thanks SavMan, that is very helpful.
My friends and most importantly my gf do not want to make it an early start.. shame on them! ;-)
As for me, I am now considering a stop at Tune4Performance in Watford (I am based in London) on the way to Santa Pod. I will delimit my car up there, and then hit Santa Pod by mid day.
Friends and gf will join in around lunch time anyways, that is their plan so far.
Hope that makes sense...
