Santa Pod Raceway - 14th April

For sure, I'd be glad if I could hit the 120mph mark!! ;-)
I attended VMax200 Starfire a couple weeks ago, wasn't sur if my car was limited, and found out it was...
I will be attending another VMax200, heard of this garage in Watford which can delimit only (I don't want mods) and it's on the way to Santa Pod.
Makes sense!

With that regards, the SL 55 gets 510hp while the CLS 55 only gets 47fhp, from the same engine configuration I think. Does the power increase comes from the ECU only? In which case it should not harm reliability to remap accordingly? I am sceptical since several of us at VMax200 Starfire had issues with their modified cars (some more serious than others) while non mods were just running smoothly and consistently. Made me give up on going for serious mods as I would not have the time to look after the car so carefully (not that I am not caring for my car, I am but within certain limits ;-)...

For the little story, that is the one and only burn out I did with the car, and one I certainly won't forget... First my girlfriend (tapping the video) got super upset for breathing in so much smoke and gave me a big argument, which immediately followed by Santa Pod's marshals's intervention! They jumped on me (I thought they were going to arrest me ahaha) stating this was absolutely not tolerable and that I could be kicked out for less...!!! I felt like a 5 year old kid who did something veeeery wrong, and I certainly won't do it again... ;-)

Not sure what you mean here my friend, and certainly not the subject of the conversation or anything that would call for justification. My point is I do take reasonable care of the car, and although I had my share of fun at Santa Pod that day, I shall not "cross the line" again given the circumstances ;-)
Hopefully that makes sense.
 
I just booked with the garage in Watford.
Will be de-restricting (only) the car between 11:30 and 12:30 this Sat.
Should get to Santa Pod around 2PM latest.....
Not ideal, but since I will be out of the country most of the time before the next VMax200 Carbon, that was my only shot to get the car sorted.
Looking forward to it!! ;-)

I might pull out from this weekend, weather doesnt look good plus I might have something that I need need to pick up for my car, been waiting for ages...

I'm tempted but having done the Vmax, I'm keen to get a better run onto the straight to beat my 172.

I held up a meeting in the board room the other day due to being asked about how it went...

Santa Pod is only quarter isn't it? - which I don't think would be enough for my automotive appetite!

There's me thinking I'd only be into acceleration at Vmax and I was the complete opposite in the end.

Weather may not be with us, but let's remain positive, I have a good feel about it.

1/4 Mile will not get you anywhere near your VMax...
Still it is really fun when you get to it, and the spirit of competition is somehow by far greater than at VMax.
The Marshals, the starting lights, the public, the printed metrics (available anytime and as many time you need them), there is something special about it.

VMax usually happens every quarters, and I believe they will be planing an event (they spoke about calling it Carbon last time at bruntintrope - whatever the spelling of it... ;-).
I try to keep in touch with these guys and shall PM you if something comes up.
One thing for sure I will have my car ready and delimited for the next one.

You did +170mph with your E55.
Is it stock? Did you really Max it out on the straight?
I wonder what my CLS 55 would have done delimited...
Remember there was a 20mph headwind, otherwise the Monaro, McLarens and Ferraris may have topped the 200mph, as much as some of our modified E55, which is very impressive!!!

It is stock (apart from K&N air filters and 2 out of the original 4 CATs).

I didn't max it out - it has more in it! Certainly 180mph is possible I believe although it will require fast entry to the straight to achieve.

If the runway was a mile or two longer, I would see mine max out but not sure what speed. :D
 
I may be struggling for tomorrow still having some minor issues with the car so may no be wise to run it tomorrow, I will sleep on it and make a decision in the morning.

I ain't going up there Sunday now either as my C43 is still in bits :(
