Ive not been back since ive had the remap and want to see if I can beat my 13.2s 1/4 mile.

Anyone fancy going?

Thats quick, what was your trap speed?

I wish I could come but sat is such a bad day for me.

I would like to have gone, but I'm at Cadwell Park next w/e.

I went a couple of years ago, my times really varied throughout the day but the best was 13.37 not 13.2 at 111mph.

That's very respectable mate.

I used to go in the 70's when I had a Mustang. I managed a 13.97 and 103mph, which pleased me greatly, considering the lack of an LSD and the rear axle located by elastic bands. Immense fun for not much money:)

that's really good 13.3 for a stock c32 estate? You will probably get in the late 12's after the remap I reckon.

I went with my friends last Augest, think my best time was 12.7secs in an stock slk55 and my friend managed 13.2 in his 04 c55 it was standard as well, traction was an issue that day..

I'll deffo be taking my car this year though after a few modds!

Good luck, let us know how you get on please :)

well what a disappointing morning that was :( I couldn't get any power down and spent most of my time spinning the wheels.

The first clip was with the esp off and it just spun and the car sort of shut itself down changed gear then the same thing happened again, the falken 452's are great on the road and a great improvement over the pirelli p zeros but today I just couldn't get any heat into them even after some serious spinning before the start line.

The sun came out and it warmed up a bit but there was delay after delay with bikes blowing up and the track having to be cleaned, cars breaking down on the track and being recovered and a BMW spilling fluid all over the waiting lanes. Id had enough and went home:(

I was car number 6

Having timed acceleration runs between say, 20mph and 80mph for both before and after the remap would have been useful as it appears to be slower after the remap than before.

Unless they increase boost I can't see how a remap can do anything on a petrol engine. Years ago a poster found a DMS map only added 1Bhp to a C230K..

Waste of money.

Bad luck, no point going at this time to be honest.

I'm going in the summer after I have my coilovers and West-Tuning remap done.

and I agree p zero's are so crap you can not get any traction, maybe in the summer me and you can go C32 VS C55:rock:

btw where did you get your remap done? did they put the car on the dyno before and after to see the agains?

Your 60ft tells the story, 2.23 is very bad. It makes such a difference when they prep the track well.

A respectable time though, i did a 13.4 in my Escort RS Turbo once. But that is very hard to get the power down as it is FWD ;)
A good video there, did you try letting the rear tyres down abit ?
I might take my C43 up there and see what time i can get :thumb:

Yeah im up for a run with your C55, id like a vid of that :thumb:
I didnt really set out to get a remap I only wanted the limiter removed but it was the same price so had Simon at cctech in Chesterfield remap it too. No dyno runs though.

I lowered the pressure in the rears to 27 the night before when they were cold, didnt seem to help on the day though  Im up for going again when the 4 days of summer arrives, I think Alx maybe interested aswell.

That GTR didn't hang around!!

Rapid eh :D nearly caught me out with my camcorder, I wasnt ready for it to take off like that.

Yeah would be good, I'll deffo be up for it when the weather is a bit warmer. Mine will be getting proper custom ECU re-map with West-Tuning next month, I've used them on all my previous cars and I've always seen good gains, weather it's a N/A petrol or a diesel.

Then it's going to Olly for some Coilovers.:D:thumb: I'm only going to take it there once and i'll make sure i'll be in the late 12's!;)
It would be worth one day having your c32 on the dyno to see if the remap did anything, also I recommend a kleemann pully, you would be in the 400bhp:D

How did you measure the gains, rolling roads are (almost) a waste of time and definitely are if provided free with the remap and mainly are for automatics.

Hi Dieselman,

Normally rolling road of before and after the map and going to pod and plus it's clear to me when I drive the car it is noticeably faster.

I've used them for years now and know exactly how good they are otherwise I wouldn’t keep going there.;)

Just noticing its faster doesn't prove anything, neither does a before/after dyno run (Although you can assess the old torque/power curve vs the new one, to see why you may feel its faster). Because all that will do is show you the maximum power the car is capable of producing, even if that max power figure is achievable for a single rpm in your rev range.

What I did with the 230K was time my runs, for example, hold it in 3rd gear and go from 10-20mph all the way to the end of the gear, which ends at around 95mph (on a runway of course!:)), and thats how I could tell if it made a difference, and I was lucky in my case because it actually did make a difference in conjunction with all the other mods i had on it.
