Just to report that I have the MB SAP cradle V3 and a Samsung phone (Galaxy S4). The phone pairs using SAP effortlessly and works flawlessly.
I could not get the phonebook to sync at all but I have read elsewhere that there are known issues with Samsung's implementation of the BPAP protocol (which handles phonebook transfer).
However, I bought an app on the Play store for £1 which replaces the Samsung PBAP with a stable version (no rooting of the phone is necessary) and that works perfectly - it is fast and reliable.
The same developer also sells an app to facilitate SAP on phones that do not support the SAP protocol straight from out of the box (e.g. Sony Xperia, etc.). It seems a lot of people are using it successfully to connect to SAP-enabled cars.
The developer's address is Remote SIM Access for Android
