Sat nav not showing correct position

Over the last couple of days ive noticed that my sat nav is not showing my correct position on the map?? Has anyone came across this problem before and knows how i rectify the issue?

It would help if you told us the model and year.

Probably requires a replacement of the amplifier or antenna for the GPS aerial.

What car? What infotainment system?

The most common issue is a faulty GPS antenna. Did you check in the system menu how many satellites it can see?

Its an e350 2011 cabriolet.i havent checked the system menu no.

Are the GPS antenna easy to replace?

After using the Santander to Plymouth ferry, my sat nav told me I was in the middle of the Bay of Biscay when I was back in the UK.
Still in warranty, Mercedes report stated, "found faults for multi function camera and radar sensor caused by COMAND on line".
Not sure what any of that means, but it was returned working and has done ever since.

Another thing worth checking is whether anything else might be interfering with the GPS antenna. I had a similar problem a few years ago where the sat nav would not show the correct location. Looked like there might have been a problem with the antenna until, for some reason that I can't now remember, I removed my recently fitted dash cam which it turned out was positioned near the antenna. Problem solved!
Probably unlikely that your problem has a similar cause but it's an easy thing to check, especially if you have installed any new electronics.

Cheers bud but have no dash cam fitted..its showing me an incorrect position like 60 miles away

99% its the GPS antenna. Most often is.

Changing it is easy if you are comfortable getting your comand unit out.

Do you know where the gps antenna is located in the e350 2011 cabriolet model please and theres so many GPS antenna i don't know which one i would need
