Sat-nav up date

Hey guys. How do I update my sat nav? Is it a dealer job? It’s a 2018 C63s. Im off to France , Switzerland and Belgium on Saturday. Hope to catch a couple of rugby games. I know I’ve left it late but it was a last minute decision. Think mine was the last ones before MBUX. Thanks guys.

If your car is the pre-facelift, then you will have COMAND NTG5*2.

If your car is the facelift model then you will have COMAND NTG5.5.

(I am assuming that COMAND was standard on the W205 C63?)

Either way, the maps data is a free download from the Internet which you can do at home, then copy the files to a USB flash drive and upload it to the car, but you'll need to purchase an activation PIN code that is unique to your VIN - you can buy that from any MB dealer, or from www.comandonline.co.uk. The maps upload to the car will take 60 to 90 minutes, and can be done while driving the car normally (but not using the satnav obviously). You can also buy the maps data on a USB drive if your Internet connection at home is slow (it's a ~40gb download).

A friendly advice is to check the credit card payment settings...

I used the download -> USB -> Car option when purchasing an update. One thing that I found out was that if using credit card payment and the purchase is made from Mercedes in Germany, the payment goes to Germany (of course). This requires the credit card used to be set to allow for payments to countries outside of the country of residence if this is not Germany. My bank offered blocking such payments in order to prevent fraud. When first attempting to pay, the Mercedes home page returned a failed payment message but there was no indication as to why. Once the blocking was unset, the payment was made and the update could be purchased
