Anyone here use alternative box to sky?
There is so much more out there when you have choice
I have a Vu+Duo2 motorised"not cheap " but a great bit of kit
gives me freedom of choice when My Son is hogging the sky remote LoL

Got an old Technomate TM 1000-D which has proved to be solid piece of basic kit. Problem with older kit is the lack of ability to handle HD/WIDE SCREEN formats leading to some interesting fiddling with the TV remote to get a decent full screen picture. Most of the free/non-encripted stuff is frankly unwatchable but satellite reception with a decent up to date box may be the only way for folks to get decent HD reception of even the basic channels in some parts of the country

Got a Technomate 5402HD which is now stuck in a box in a cupboard as it's been replaced by a Technomate Twin OE Linux based receiver.

I should have gone the Linux way years ago, but was put off by what I thought were over complicated controls/settings. I've now come to realise that they're just good stuff which allows more customisation to be done to the box once it's up and running on your network. There's loads of free stuff out there, also loads of ppv stuff which can be accessed via a modest subscription.

A motorised dish is the way to go, keep you entertained for hours on end.
