Satnav issue

Hi, does anyone know the reason for this issue? W211 09, satnav says activating but doesn't do anything? Everything else works fine! Here's a pic of screen. Thanks

That's COMAND NTG2.5.

You can try a hard reset by removing the fuse or disconnecting the battery, you can try reloading the maps from the DVD, or you can try reflashing the firmware (the latter requires STAR so not a DYI job). Worse comes to worst, you'll need a new unit. www.comandonline.co.uk can help.

Thanks for the reply, I don't have the dvd for it unfortunately, would one from ebay or someone do the job? I will try removing the battery first. Thanks

With 2.5 (which I have in my SLK) the last issued map update is 2019, and you just need the DVD provided your car has the 2009 firmware update already installed. If it does not, trying to install the update will simply result in an "unable to update" message, unlike NTG4 which will attempt to install an update by first deleting the existing mapsthen trying (and failing) to install the update - from which I don't know how you'd get back! I bought a "second user" 2.5 DVD (genuine MB) from either MB or a member on here or t'other side (can't remember which) and after installation sold it on, but before installation I had to pay a specialist to install the 2009 update that MB North Wales (supplying and servicing dealer) should have installed during one of the services they did for the first owner but did not - and did not reply to me when I tried to contact them about it! There is a way to find if that update is installed, maybe @Alfie or @richard cna enlighten us.

Thanks, that would be good if I can find out if the update was done, then I can take it further and get the new maps

Just make sure you buy a genuine MB DVD and not a knock off copy!!
