Remove fuse for Comand / nav processor to reset unit fully or remove the power cables from the back of the units. Have you checked how many satellites comand says it has picked up after changing gps aerial?

It will be in one of the menus when in sat nav mode, your Comand user manual will tell you how to check.

On Comand 2 devices you can check the number of satellites on the Map screen. When not navigating just press the 'Map' button and it should show your latitude, longitude and how many satellites it has locked onto.
