Ultimately it's what people will pay as opposed to what an item will cost to manufacture plus profit margin.

Polishers tend to have much more powerful motors than angle grinders, polishing is about torque and constant steady speed. Then add a DA system as well.

Grinders are all about outright speed.

You could buy a FLEX XC3401 for that kind of money though.

Das6pro is quite a lot cheaper and by all accounts very good. My kit cost my a shade over 200 squid with loads of pads, 2 backing plates and a menzerna polish pack.

But then it's nothing like a repurposed angle grinder either, they spin about 10 times faster than a polisher.
