I did think about disconnecting the batteries but I need to do pipes as well so this tool does that too the icarsoft is £125 pounds so bit more expensiveAlot of lads just take the earth off both batteries . Seems expensive for what your trying to do. For a few quid more you could buy an icarsoft mb2 and have total control of everything on the car.
I read that unplugging it can sometimes cause a fault codeI always just unplug the SBC plug, takes maybe less than a minute.

So you've done this a few times with no ill effects? It seems to be the logical way to go. I presume you don't have to reactivate SBC by raising and turning wheels etc?Not unless you activate it by driving, locking, opening a door etc.
Even then it shows an error which clears when it's reconnected is what I've found and shows code as stored not current.

ThanksMany times, never had a problem.
Yep, #me too, many times. I also found, by accident, that if the SBC wanted resetting if I just drove the car up & down my drive a few times it would come back, no problem. I do not advocate this btw! particularly if, like me, your drive has a gradient down to the main road. Many times, never had a problem.
Just lock the car up and wait for it to go to sleep. No need to disconnect batteries.
