SBC problem

Just helped a friend of mine fit a second hand SBC unit on his E Class. All has gone well but there is a strange outcome. No faults on the dash, no faults on the star machine but on hard braking the ABS is not working and if you give it a bootfull you can just smoke the rear tyres so the ESP is not working. All the right things on the dash are happening like the triangle flashes when wheels spin but no actual correction happening. Any ideas?

Could the rear brakes not be fully bleed , and the air in the lines is causing the rear wheels to spin and the abs to not engage ?

I think it's something to do with pressure. We will put it back on the star tomorrow and check the actual values again as its got to be something silly
