I am curious to find out whether the SBC pump has ever been changed in my E55. Using the following code. dating schedule from Bosch, I'm still none the wiser.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rvJOEtWIZ9s/UCq0GNM9j_I/AAAAAAAADZA/5H2gq9GoqJY/s1600/bosch+date+codes.jpg

I have three sets of numbers on my pump.

265 250 110
A 005 431 96 12 02
265 960 036

Using the above sheet, I wonder if my pump is an Oct 2011 build code (110) in which case as it's a 2004 car it has been replaced. Just wondering:dk:

There should be a date on the pump itself to buddy

Unless it's underneath the pump, I can't see any other numbers/dates.:dk:

^ Thanks for that!

Off to look for a yellow label now.

mine had 2003 which is correct so unfortunately for me mine hasnt been done doh lol

Just checked mine... Code 886 (June 2008), my car is 2004.

387 (July 2003) for my SL500 collected new from Bremen......so in the second part of 2003 at least the the lead time from the manufacture of the pump to being in a completed car was about 2-3 months.

I knew my pump had not been replaced but I have found the date coding to be of interest.

Thank you.

I answered 'on the other side', but put it here too; first digits of the B:

Just checked and mine shows Code 889 (Sept 2008)
My car is a 2004.
So it looks like the pump has been replaced, probably under warranty at the time, but the original only lasted 4 years.

Possibly part of a recall service for the 1st owner.
