How did you find out?
 
There's a fair few cars this is being done with at the moment. Higher than usual rate and they price them at only £1.5/ 3k under a reasonable price so it gains your interest more so than the obvious old scammers.

There was an Audi A8 that claimed to be a dealer, had a website with other cars the lot. Was a total scam. They wouldn't take phone calls though.
 
So how would the scam work if they do not have that car, would they have a ringer / cloned car ready ?

You'd be surprised how many people are happy to pay a deposit or even in full for a car over the phone. That's how they do it.

Yup. When I sold my E500 the buyer was happy to pay me a fat deposit without seeing te car or me.
