Vito W447 116 Cdi Bluetec Sport Van, 2143cc
Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to find a recommendation for a scanner / diagnostic tool for my W447 (2016) Vito van. I can't find one from a UK supplier that lists the W447 model as a supported vehicle. I was favouring a icarsoft MB V2.0, given its good reviews, but it only lists up to the earlier Vito W639 model. Its difficult to determine whether it will work at all with the W447 model. Ultimately, I'll buy whatever ~£100 scanner will work on the W447.

I'm hoping to diagnose an ABS plus Traction Control warning light problem that I have. Both warning lights come on together at unpredictable times whilst I'm driving, sometimes with the brakes feeling like they "catch" slightly, or a slight change in revs if I've got cruise control on. The lights will then stay on (with cruise control becoming inoperable) but will often reset after the ignition has been turned off and stay away for a while. It seems likely to be a wheel speed sensor/reluctor ring issue so I'd like to use a scanner to work out which wheel to focus on.

Many thanks for any help or recommendations you can give.

Buy a mb3 if it's got a regen dpf fitted.

Icarsoft are hit and miss tbh with mercedes software , I have to select a ml350 or a cls350 just to see engine data on my 19 reg glc350. And that's with a cr pro , one of the top models . The mb3 before that was useless as well. Worked a charm on my 17 reg e350 mind you.

Don't rule out the brake light switch as your problem 👍👍

I had the very same problem a while ago. I used Icarsoft 3.0 which did help and correctly identified a specific wheel speed sensor (abs) as the problem.
Do your sliding doors stop working when the lights on? Mine did, must be part of the same system.

If it’s a speed sensor, easy enough to change
The scanner is limited as you say for the 447. It won’t even do the service light, never mind the abs if you bleed the brakes. I’m researching others as well speak. Having said that, it does read codes and test each system.

I use an Autel MK900 for most things, it has full access to a w447.
Ah yes autel just came back to me and recommended the mk900BT. They just said it won’t do coding which I suppose to mean things like injectors

Mine is a 900BT, it is able to recode injectors so maybe they mean something else. I've not tried to use it to recode keys to an immobiliser, so perhaps they mean that?

Might be worth getting clarification from them on exactly what they mean, the update subscription for it isnt alot of money either.

Ah that’s interesting. I have to say, getting any specifics out of them is very difficult!
I thought I’d go do this or the artidiag pro but they are equally as difficult!
I was leaning toward the artidiag but knowing your success with autel I may well go for that.

Shergill,
That's very helpful to know. Thank you for confirming. David

No worries. Wrt to your actual issue it's worth checking the battery voltage and then may need wheel angle sensor recalibration as both these issues can cause both lights to appear at the same time

If you want to set up Mercedes Xentry for free on an old laptop (windows 10/11 64 bit), and buy a £10 to £50 passthru interface, I got a link for you

I'd say Autel can F off for what you pay for clone software and bad support

I would not post stuff like that on here if I were you.

Have you used it for abs bleed? I’m guessing it does the basics such as service reset etc
Thank you

Yes. ABS bleed, injector coding, DPF regen and reprogramming, all the service counters, anything I need really. Very happy with it.

For an easy to use tool that I use everyday in the workshop, and one that talks to all makes and models I'm very happy with what it cost. It had paid for itself within a week.

Yeah it's a bad company. I tried to get support my AP200 and was essentially told to f off because they don't care about enthusiast market. "I should be thankful the other functions work" that rep said.

Your experience is different to mine, but each to their own.
