I'm sure at this bargain price they will become the new people's car

Damn if only it was diesel.

with that price he is devaluating the Mercedes Brand. Everybody will now be able to buy one... Why buy a budget car if you can get a car at that price.. Only problem they might face is economy as its a petrol. ... oh well......:)

That is a hell of a commission.

And that ad is also in the pistonheads too.

Does this mean your looking at changing the hearse? (oops sorry E class) :)

your obviously 'looking' its a slippery slope.

It's a very very slippery slope, as I'm finding out .

I wasn't looking when I bought this one - it just sort of happened.

^ That's what seems to happen with me and houses.....

Never 'looking' but have moved around 5 times in 10 years... :)

I think the current ones a keeper.....for now

Funny you should say that............

My good lady loves every house we've had but then another just appears...... and much as I love cars I love houses more :thumb:.

^ me too.

Cars have become second really, a mans home is his castle etc...

I still like my cars but more interested in getting our house sorted, tend to always buy them needing mucho work and get them just right.........then move...

Still keeps me busy and the only way I can legally make a nice heap of pennies.

I do hope this current one is a keeper though, we really have had to do a lot of work and still lots to do (hence living in a caravan for nearly 3 months at the start).

All good stuff though.

Any photos - this is right up my street (not literally of course) :D.

I have the ones as soon as we bought it, inside is like time stood still around in around 1960 and when we bought it, the house had been empty for 4 to 5 years.

I liked the fact it had two garages as one will be converted to a playroom, and the garden is quite a good size :) the caravan is also hidden at the back out of sight. As you can see pretty un loved !!

Unloved is good - prices are better.

I'm loving the stonework around the entrance.

A fine house with loads of potential :thumb:.

This is the transformation outside since buying it 5 months ago.

I should have wrote a blog post, it’s been like Grand designs (on a MINI budget) including the living in a caravan bit !! over Christmas and New Year with a 2yr old and 6 yr old :)

Since buying it... it’s had

Everything ripped out, heating, wiring, boiler, pipes, bathroom, fires, back boiler, carpets. Windows, doors, kitchen, walls knocked down, beams.. probably lots more. The car knows its own way to the tip.

We have re fitted:-

New Central Heating / rads / boiler
Full rewire
New Windows (23 windows !!!)
New Kitchen
New Bathrooms
New Fireplaces / Stoves / flue liners
New doors, openings,
Coving, ceilings, plastering (almost every room) proper Messy jobs
Some new floor boards
Loft insulation
Carpets and a result (parquet flooring under carpet) now polished up J

Loads more I forget, I have a file of stuff, quotes, etc but we are getting there. Still lots to do and the outside needs sorting (drive, walls etc) but we have done a lot in a short space.

As we bought it.

now

I'm currently sanding down the guttering and sorting / painting it black :)

That's a labour of love - you've done well.

I see it's brickwork not stone around the entrance on the larger photos.

I think that front is perfect for a GTG :D.

That looks a fine house to do as a development, assuming the area is OK.

^ Neighbours were so worried as developers (not our developer ^) wanted to buy it knock it down and build 4 smaller detached houses.

All around were so happy that we have moved in and are keeping it as a family house...

Although doing the sums I could build 4 houses on the plot if needed and live in the 4th for free... so its worth doing.

Or build something in the garden for the kids when they are bigger....

Its worth doing its a nice area (read we have already done well doing it up) nice to know....

:)
