Scooters Lots and lots here on the IOW this weekend

Around 6000 scooters coming to the Isle of Wight this bank holiday weekend, had a drive around Ryde seafront today and hundreds already here, makes a great spectacle, sounds like a swarm of bees though!

As you live on the island you will probably be aware that the rally starts from Ryde seafront at 1.00 tomorrow. Should be quite a spectacle and a lot of 2 stroke fumes , let alone the noise ! Did you get any photos?

This is an every year event so the locals must be used to it by now.

Oddly enough , a friend of mine has his Lambretta fixed by a guy that rides a Harley. How times have changed , in the 60s the bikers regularly tried to kick us off our scooters , and we returned the favour!

Too true, at least scooters serve a purpose as great City transport and have done for years, whereas all Harleys do is turn petrol into noise, without either:

A.Power
B. The ability to get around a corner properly

Very true, the difference is the C63 has too much power though, whereas Harleys are somewhat lacking.

Not a harley fan by any means but some of them would leave your cars for dust. Ok, I admit only in a straight line...

Saw loads of scooters coming back today through Southampton and one rider in particular was about 5 times the size and weight of the scooter he was riding...shocking. Wonder how often he has to rebuild suspension?
