Screen won’t start

Hi everyone, just become a proud CLS owner, I decided to look into the cd auto changer not opening. The motor was found to be faulty, I refitted the unit without the motor and now the display screen wont go past the Mercedes Benz logo. What have I done wrong or what do I need to do now?

Check all the connection at the rear of the unit.... especially the MOST optical chain.

Just guessing here but maybe the system is looking for the cd as part of the boot-up process and can't find it without the motor.

Teego, I thought that and reconnected the motor. Pulled the fuse for 10 minutes and tried to restart the system. Still getting the same results.
