Screenwash. I broke the rules.

Are we turning DIY chemists to produce a more effective product or to save money?

Is it me or does this look a bit like Dieselman? ;) Merry Christmas Will :thumb:

Almost £150? I'll pass on that thanks. Can we get small bottles in the UK?

If you ask me nicely I'll bring some of my home brew to the next GTG and you can sample it FOC. I normally make it up 25 litres at a time at a strength ready to use but I could do 5 litres of concentrate which would give you 25 litres when diluted

Thanks Ian! I don't think we've ever met, but I'm in (East) London ... However I'll be in Harrogate over the weekend!

Crikey.

Amount of screenwash used + time/cost spent sourcing and mixing ingredients + benefits = Aldi's ready mixed at a couple of quid wins hands down.

I love the ingenuity and tips on this site but sometimes life's too short!

Merry Christmas, by the way ;)

Try pouring 1litre of vodka in the washer bottle to stop it freezing on cold mornings.

Enjoy Harrrogate it's a lovely place my weekend sees me in Newcastle not quite as nice

I'm in London at least once or twice a month so sure we can hook up after the holidays if you still want to try some

Happy holidays

The price of screenwash these days is outrageous. I used to use the MB stuff but it's expensive now.
Currently using Halfords concentrated purely because I get a discount but it's nothing special without a bit of Fairy.
I've seen ready-to-use screenwash at £3.50 per 5, litres which is the size of the reservoir in my vehicles, so £3.50 each time I fill up... I don't think so!

When touring the continent in my younger days climbing; the windscreens used to get very fly dirty. Shower gel worked very well (a good squirt into reservoir). Smells a lot better than screen wash and seemed to do a reasonable job but not very scientific.

Thanks Ian, I've never been so quite looking forward to it!

Would be great to meet up whenever you are in London after the 8th :)

Merry Christmas
